A minor in Public Health is offered. The minor in Public Health consists of 12 credits including: BPH 206 Introduction to Public Health (3 cr), BPH 208 Introductory Epidemiology (3 cr), plus two Public Health electives from the list below:

BPH 319 Contemporary Issues in Bioethics for Health Care 3 cr

A joint minor in Health Communication is offered in conjunction with the School of Communication. The Health Communication minor consists of 15 credits as detailed below:

  • Public Health – BPH 206 (3 cr)

6 additional credits in Communication Studies (COS) from the courses listed below:

  • COS 426 Patient-Provider Communication (3 cr)
  • COS 427 Health Behavior and Risk (3 cr)
  • COS 472 Persuasion (3 cr)

3 additional credits in Public Health (BPH from the courses listed below:
  • BPH 305 Issues in Health Disparities (3 cr)
  • BPH 310 Gobal Health (3 cr)
  • BPH 321 Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (3 cr)
  • BPH 322 Introduction to Health Policy (3 cr)

A grade of C or higher is required in all courses (a grade of C- or lower is not acceptable for minor).
Minimum UM GPA of 2.0 required to declare minor.
